EWR is almost always the airport of choice for Staten Island clients — it's closer, cheaper to access (no Verrazzano toll going toward Staten Island), and usually faster.

Dispatcher tip: for EWR from anywhere on Staten Island, the Goethals Bridge and NJ Turnpike is the standard route; during the morning rush, Bayonne Bridge to Kennedy Boulevard to I-78 W is sometimes faster. The Verrazzano-Narrows is the only bridge to the rest of NYC, so any delay at that toll plaza cascades. For early JFK flights we recommend leaving Staten Island at 4:00 AM. The Outerbridge Crossing to Perth Amboy is our backup route when Goethals or Bayonne traffic is stopped.
