Higher education: Napa Valley College in Napa itself, Sonoma State University 30 minutes west in Rohnert Park, and the historic Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in St. Helena (one of the world's premier culinary schools).

Hospitals. Queen of the Valley Medical Center on Trancas Street (the major Napa County hospital, Providence/St. Joseph Health), Adventist Health St. Helena 30 minutes north in St. Helena, UCSF Medical Center 90 minutes south for academic specialty care, and Stanford Health Care 2 hours south.

Airport drive times from Napa. SFO: 75–95 minutes via CA-29 + CA-37 + US-101 + Golden Gate Bridge. OAK: 75–95 minutes via CA-29 + I-80 + Bay Bridge. SJC: 2–2.5 hours south.
