Local dispatcher tip. The Getty Center has a unique vehicle-access pattern: private vehicles must park at the Getty Center Drive parking garage (paid) and ride the iconic Getty Tram to the hilltop museum — there is NO direct vehicular drop at the museum building. We coordinate parking-garage drops and tram-ride timing for premium visits. Special-exhibition openings (typically Tuesday-evening members previews) bring substantial regional traffic to Sepulveda Boulevard. The 2025 Palisades Fire impacted the Getty Villa's adjacent canyon hillsides; the Getty Villa was preserved and remains open to public visits with appropriate sensitivity for affected families. The I-405 corridor is heavily impacted weekday peaks; we strongly prefer Sepulveda for early-morning runs.
