About Our Santa Rosa Black SUV Car Service

About Us

Airport Commuter has been running SAFE, DEPENDABLE Black SUV car service for Santa Rosa residents and the wider wine-country community since 1986. SFO is 75-90 minutes, OAK is 70-85 minutes, SJC is 100-120 minutes. Flat rates on every combination — and yes, we absolutely run the Santa Rosa-to-SFO trip. For local private-aviation and regional destinations we also run to Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) right in Santa Rosa.

About Santa Rosa. Santa Rosa (population ~177,000, incorporated 1868) is the largest city in the North Bay and the 5th largest city in the San Francisco Bay Area overall — the county seat of Sonoma County and the commercial, medical, and cultural hub of the broader wine country. The city is intimately tied to two extraordinary people in history: Luther Burbank, the legendary horticulturist who lived and worked in Santa Rosa from 1875 until his death in 1926 (developing over 800 plant varieties, including the Russet Burbank potato), and Charles M. Schulz, the creator of Peanuts, who lived in Santa Rosa for 42 years and drew virtually every Peanuts strip from here.

Landmarks our drivers know. The Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center (2301 Hardies Lane — opened 2002, the definitive Peanuts museum with original strips, Schulz's studio recreated, and the famous Peanuts characters statuary), the Redwood Empire Ice Arena / Snoopy's Home Ice (the ice rink Schulz built for his family in 1969, still operating), the Luther Burbank Home and Gardens (Sonoma Avenue — Burbank's actual home preserved as a museum), Railroad Square historic district (the walkable 19th-century downtown west of 101, with Cotati Taxi and vintage shops), Old Courthouse Square, the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (concerts and performing arts venue), and of course the signature Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) with its giant Snoopy statue in the terminal.

Wine country gateway. Santa Rosa is the launching point for the three iconic wine regions of Sonoma County: Russian River Valley (Pinot Noir and Chardonnay — Korbel, Rodney Strong, J Vineyards, Iron Horse, hundreds more), Dry Creek Valley (Zinfandel — Ridge, Ferrari-Carano, Dry Creek Vineyard), and Alexander Valley (Cabernet Sauvignon — Jordan, Silver Oak, Simi). Our drivers run a significant volume of wine-country day trips and private vineyard tours from Santa Rosa throughout harvest season.

Schools. Santa Rosa City Schools runs the public district. High schools include Santa Rosa High School, Montgomery High School, Maria Carrillo High School (regularly ranked among the top public HS in Sonoma County), Piner High, and Elsie Allen High. Private options include Cardinal Newman High School (9-12 Catholic) and Rincon Valley Christian. The Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) main campus is one of the top-ranked community colleges in California. Sonoma State University is 15 minutes south in Rohnert Park.

Hospitals. Santa Rosa is the regional medical hub for the entire North Bay. Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital (Providence Health, Level II trauma) is the region's trauma and specialty center. Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center (Bicentennial Way) is Kaiser's North Bay flagship. Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital (Round Barn Boulevard) is Sutter's newest North Bay hospital (opened 2014). For highly specialized care, Stanford and UCSF are 90 minutes south. Our drivers run regular medical-transport accounts to all three Santa Rosa hospitals.

Parks and nature. Annadel State Park / Trione-Annadel State Park (5,393 acres of oak woodlands and grasslands with 35 miles of hiking, cycling, and equestrian trails, including Lake Ilsanjo), Howarth Park (152 acres around Lake Ralphine with a miniature train and carousel), Spring Lake Regional Park (320 acres of rolling hills around the lake, trails, campgrounds), Taylor Mountain Regional Park (1,100 acres), Sonoma County Regional Parks system network, and the Joe Rodota Trail (12-mile rail-trail connecting Santa Rosa to Sebastopol).

Neighborhoods we serve throughout Santa Rosa. Railroad Square / Downtown, Historic McDonald / Luther Burbank neighborhood, Junior College neighborhood, Rincon Valley, Fountaingrove (extensively rebuilt after the 2017 Tubbs Fire), Oakmont (the retirement community on the east side), Rohnert Park border, West End, Roseland, Bennett Valley, Montgomery Village, Coffey Park (rebuilt after the 2017 Tubbs Fire), Larkfield-Wikiup (rebuilt after 2017), Stony Point corridor, Mendocino Avenue corridor, and the wineries-adjacent outer east-side foothill areas.

Airport drive times from Santa Rosa. STS (Sonoma County Airport): 10-15 minutes (7 miles, via 101 north — Alaska and Avelo direct to LAX, Burbank, Seattle, Portland, San Diego, Orange County, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Phoenix). SFO: 75-90 minutes (60 miles, via 101 + Golden Gate Bridge). OAK: 70-85 minutes (65 miles, via Richmond/San Rafael Bridge + 580). SJC: 100-120 minutes (100 miles).

Local dispatcher tip. For any Santa Rosa SFO airport run we recommend the STS alternative first — if your destination is LA, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Las Vegas, or San Diego, flying from STS eliminates 75-90 minutes of ground transport each way. We run the STS-to-Santa Rosa airport transfer in 10-15 minutes, flat rate. When SFO is required: Golden Gate Bridge southbound 7-10 AM adds 30+ minutes, and 101 through Novato / San Rafael is a known pinch point. We pad 25 minutes on all pre-9 AM SFO runs from Santa Rosa.

Beyond airport transfers, we run wine-country day trips across Russian River / Dry Creek / Alexander Valley / Sonoma Valley, Charles Schulz Museum and Luther Burbank Home group tours, Sonoma State University commencement and events, Kaiser / Sutter / Santa Rosa Memorial medical transports, Luther Burbank Center concert transport, Calistoga hot-springs day trips, Bodega Bay and coastal Sonoma tours, Armstrong Redwoods day trips, and corporate black-car accounts. 24/7 dispatch. Executive Black SUVs, stretch limos, Sprinters, and larger group vehicles for wine-tour parties. Since 1986.
