South San Francisco is Airport Commuter's home. Our headquarters has operated at 90 S Spruce Avenue # K, South San Francisco, CA 94080 since 1986 — a 5-minute drive from SFO Terminal 1. We were issued CPUC TCP# 9225 in 1986 from this location (a 3-digit California Public Utilities Commission Transportation Charter Permit, one of the oldest continuously-operating limo licenses in California). Kaiser Permanente South San Francisco Medical Center (the major SSF acute care facility on El Camino Real), Mills-Peninsula Medical Center (Burlingame, 10 minutes south, the major Sutter Health peninsula hospital), Seton Medical Center Daly City (10 minutes north), UCSF Medical Center Mission Bay / Parnassus (15–20 minutes north for academic specialty care), and Stanford Health Care (25 minutes south for transplant, oncology, and cardiac specialty). SSF's "East of 101" biotech district can be confusing for first-time visitors — specific addresses on Forbes Boulevard, Oyster Point Boulevard, Grand Avenue, and Gateway Boulevard need accurate building numbers because of similar-named adjacent buildings. We brief drivers on the specific Genentech / Amgen / BMS / Stem CentRx campus building if requested. SFO peak-arrival windows (early-morning international 5–7 AM, late-evening international 9–11 PM) can briefly congest the SSF approach via 101 — we route via Airport Boulevard / S Airport Boulevard when needed. Sign Hill weekday afternoons can be a brief commuter pinch on Hillside Boulevard. Bay Area International Auto Show, BIO International Convention (when in SF), and the JPMorgan Healthcare Conference in January all create peak demand periods for SSF biotech transport.
