Schools. Los Altos is known for its schools. The Los Altos School District (K-8) and the Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District are both consistently ranked among the top public districts in California. Los Altos High School and Mountain View High School both rank in California's top tier. Privates include Pinewood School (K-12), Saint Francis High School (adjacent, in Mountain View), and St. Nicholas Catholic School. Foothill College (community, in neighboring Los Altos Hills) is highly ranked for transfers to UC/CSU and Stanford.
Hospitals. El Camino Hospital (Mountain View, 5 minutes) is Los Altos's primary hospital — one of the highest-rated hospitals in Silicon Valley, with strong women's health, cardiac, and stroke programs. Stanford Hospital is 15 minutes north via El Camino / Page Mill. Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara is 15 minutes south. Our drivers handle medical-transport runs to all three.

Local dispatcher tip. El Camino Real and Foothill Expressway both back up during Google and Meta morning commute hours (7:30-9 AM, eastbound). For early SFO runs we use 280 north instead. San Antonio Road between Foothill and the Village also slows during Los Altos downtown events (First Friday, Art & Wine Festival in July, Pumpkin Festival in October) — we stage on Hillview Avenue rather than Main Street during those weekends.
