Hospitals. John Muir Health — Walnut Creek Medical Center (10 minutes north) is Danville's primary hospital — Level II trauma, one of the East Bay's top cardiac and orthopedic centers. San Ramon Regional Medical Center (10 minutes south) is the closer full-service hospital within the valley. Kaiser Permanente Walnut Creek is 12 minutes north. I-680 northbound (6:30-9 AM) and Caldecott Tunnel westbound via 24 are Danville's airport-commute bottlenecks — the combination adds 25-40 minutes to SFO runs on weekday mornings. For pre-7 AM flights we leave Danville before 5:30 AM or route south via 680 to 580 + 238 + 880 to avoid the Caldecott entirely. Blackhawk's Blackhawk Plaza pickups on weekend holiday shopping days can be congested — we stage in the Safeway/Lunardi's lot instead.
