Boston College and Lasell University are both in Newton.

Hospitals. Newton-Wellesley Hospital (2014 Washington Street, Mass General Brigham, 273 beds) is Newton's primary hospital — one of Massachusetts' most respected community hospitals, affiliated with Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's. For early Logan runs we leave before 6 AM or route via Rt 128 south + I-95 + Mass Pike. Boston Marathon (third Monday in April) runs directly through Newton's Commonwealth Avenue (Heartbreak Hill) — no ground transport possible through the marathon corridor all Monday morning. Boston College football game-day traffic near Chestnut Hill affects Beacon Street / Commonwealth on Saturdays in fall.
