Airport Limo & Executive Black SUV Car Service
San Francisco Area Limo | Executive Black SUV Car Service
All US Airports | Groups | Events
Airport Commuter has been running SAFE, DEPENDABLE Black SUV car service for Berkeley residents, UC Berkeley faculty and visitors, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory scientists since 1986. SFO is 30-45 minutes across the Bay Bridge, OAK is 15-20 minutes, SJC is 55-70 minutes. Flat rates on every combination. Berkeley is one of our highest-volume East Bay cities — a steady mix of university faculty, visiting-scholar accommodations, medical-transport runs to Alta Bates, and Cal Bears game-day fans.
About Berkeley. Berkeley (population ~124,000, incorporated 1878) is the fourth-largest city in the East Bay and one of the most intellectually and culturally influential small cities on earth. It is home to the University of California, Berkeley (founded 1868 — the first and flagship campus of the UC system) and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) — together producing more Nobel laureates than most countries. The city is also where the Free Speech Movement began in 1964, where the Chez Panisse farm-to-table movement began in 1971, and where California's modern environmental and cultural activism has a great deal of its roots.
UC Berkeley landmarks our drivers know. The Main Campus (all gates: Sather, West, North, South, Hearst Mining, Bancroft), Sather Tower / The Campanile (307-foot 1914 granite bell tower, one of the most photographed university landmarks in the world), Sproul Plaza (site of the Free Speech Movement), Memorial Stadium (home of Cal Bears football, seats 63,186, built 1923, renovated 2012), Haas Pavilion (Cal basketball), Edwards Stadium (Cal track), Zellerbach Hall (performing arts), the Hearst Greek Theatre (the legendary 8,500-seat 1903 amphitheater — Grateful Dead, U2, countless iconic shows), the Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA), the Lawrence Hall of Science (up in the hills), and the UC Botanical Garden.
Other Berkeley landmarks. Telegraph Avenue (the historic counter-culture shopping street from Dwight Way to Bancroft), The Claremont Hotel & Spa (the iconic 1915 grand hotel on the Oakland border — now Fairmont Berkeley), Gourmet Ghetto / North Shattuck (the cradle of California cuisine — Chez Panisse, Cheese Board Collective, Acme Bread, Saul's), Berkeley Rep (Tony-winning theater), Fourth Street shopping district, Berkeley Marina and César Chavez Park, and Tilden Regional Park up in the hills (2,079 acres, Steam Trains, Little Farm, Lake Anza).
Schools. Berkeley High School (BHS — single public high school for the entire city, ~3,400 students, a California Distinguished School) is the largest public high school in Alameda County and has graduated Nobel laureates, astronauts, and U.S. senators. The Berkeley Unified School District K-8 feeds into BHS. Private options include Head-Royce School (in neighboring Oakland, K-12), Berkeley Montessori School, Saint Mary's College High School (Berkeley, 9-12 Catholic), and The Maybeck High School (9-12 progressive). And of course UC Berkeley itself, with ~45,000 students.
Hospitals. Alta Bates Summit Medical Center – Alta Bates Campus (2450 Ashby Avenue, Sutter Health) is Berkeley's primary hospital — a full-service acute-care hospital with a strong women's-and-children's program and one of the East Bay's busiest birth centers. Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center is 10 minutes south. UCSF Parnassus / Mission Bay campuses are 25-30 minutes west via the Bay Bridge. Our drivers run regular medical-transport accounts to all three.
Parks and nature. Tilden Regional Park (2,079 acres in the Berkeley Hills — the signature East Bay park with Lake Anza swimming, the Tilden Little Farm, the Berkeley Rose Garden, the historic Steam Train, and miles of trails connecting to Wildcat Canyon), Claremont Canyon Regional Preserve, Berkeley Marina (120 acres of waterfront with César Chavez Park and the Berkeley Pier), Strawberry Canyon (UC-owned canyon with Fire Trail hiking), and Indian Rock / Mortar Rock Parks (iconic rock outcrops with Golden Gate views in the Berkeley Hills).
Neighborhoods we serve throughout Berkeley. Berkeley Hills (the upper-elevation residential neighborhoods east of Euclid), Claremont / Elmwood (the Oakland-border neighborhood around College Avenue), North Berkeley / Gourmet Ghetto, West Berkeley / Fourth Street / Berkeley Marina, Central Berkeley / Downtown, South Berkeley, Panoramic Hill (above Memorial Stadium), LeConte (South Campus), and the entire University Avenue / San Pablo corridor.
Airport drive times from Berkeley. OAK: 15-20 minutes (13 miles, via 580 + 980 south). SFO: 30-45 minutes (18 miles, via Bay Bridge — timing depends entirely on Bay Bridge traffic). SJC: 55-70 minutes (50 miles, via 880 south). Berkeley's OAK run is one of our shortest airport transfers anywhere in the Bay Area.
Local dispatcher tip. Bay Bridge westbound is the Berkeley-to-SFO bottleneck — weekday 7-10 AM adds 25-40 minutes, and any Warriors home game at Chase Center compounds it. For early SFO runs we aim to clear the bridge before 6:45 AM. On Cal Bears football Saturdays, the entire campus area (Bancroft, Piedmont, Gayley, Centennial Drive) becomes parking-lot traffic for 3-4 hours on each side of kickoff — we route around campus via Ashby or Alcatraz. UC Berkeley commencement (mid-May) and move-in weekend (late August) both pack the neighborhoods around campus; we pre-book early.
Beyond airport transfers, we run UC Berkeley visiting-scholar accommodations, Cal Bears home-game transport, commencement and reunion transportation, Lawrence Berkeley Lab visitor transport, Alta Bates Summit medical accounts, Claremont Hotel arrivals, Greek Theatre concert transport, Berkeley Rep theater nights, Napa / Sonoma wine-country day trips, and corporate black-car accounts for Berkeley's considerable academic, biotech, and legal residents. 24/7 dispatch. Executive Black SUVs, stretch limos, Sprinters. Since 1986.
