Your Safety as a Los Angeles Limousine Passenger:

Before booking a limousine with a particular company in Los Angeles, you can call the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) at 800.877.8867, to get the company's PUC permit status and number, insurance number, and to check if there are any filed complaints against the limo service. All passenger vehicles in California must provide financial responsibility, safety information, proof of liability insurance, and California Highway Patrol safety inspection to the CPUC in order to receive permits or certificates. For general information, also see our list of federally regulated minimum requirements for limousine operators, to understand national laws regarding your safety as a limousine passenger.

Your Legal Rights as a Los Angeles Limousine Passenger:

Whatever Los Angeles limo company you book with, be sure to find out up front about all charges related to your limousine service. Tolls, airport fees, regulatory fees, travel time, holiday surcharges, fuel surcharges, and courtesy cell phone usage charges are all common, but these fees should be clearly stated up front, and must of course apply to you if you are going to pay them. By asking up front, you can avoid companies who charge hidden fees not included in the quoted rate, or attempt to tack on vague extra charges at the end of your service.
